The Minister of Hydraulics presents the APTF project to UVICOCI

Pending the official launch of the project to improve the technical and financial performance of the drinking water sector (APTF), scheduled very soon, the Minister of Hydraulics Laurent TCHAGBA met this Friday, March 20, 2020, with the Union of Cities and Communes of Côte d'Ivoire (UVICOCI) at their headquarters located in Plateau.

This program adopted by the Government will make it possible to solve the drinking water problems of the city of Abidjan and its surrounding localities.

With a total cost of 47 billion FCFA, the APTF will be carried out by the Ministry of Hydraulics in liaison with ONEP and SODECI and it takes into account 155 sub-districts of Abidjan and Suburbs which suffer from the lack of 'potable water.

The Minister of Hydraulics has requested the involvement of the various mayors of Abidjan and the suburbs for the smooth running of this vast project.

Minister Danho Paulin Claude, President of the Union of Cities and Towns of Côte d'Ivoire, on behalf of UVICOCI, welcomed the approach of his colleague Minister of Hydraulics, to involve the mayors in this operation. For him, the UVICOCI is committed to putting in place working tools for the mobilization and awareness of the populations.

In this sensitive period of CORONAVIRUS (COVID 19) where hand washing is a strict preventive measure, the State is doing everything possible to guarantee access to drinking water for all.
